Sheriff 26_edited_edited.jpg

I am asking for your continued support as Sheriff of Pierce County.

As Sheriff, I have maintained the professional service all residents of Pierce County expect and deserve. Through this role, I have grown both personally and professionally. I have built strong relationships with individuals and organizations from Door County, to La Crosse County. These connections have not only shaped me, but have also created positive outcomes for the residents of Pierce County.

As your elected Sheriff, I have worked to maintain a balanced and effective office. My ability to build relationships with people from all walks of life has benefited both the Sheriff's Office and the community.

Serving as Sheriff has been the most challenging, rewarding, and at times heartbreaking experience of my life. In my earliest days, I was tasked with filling two critical leadership positions-Chief Deputy and Patrol Lieutenant. During that first week, our office assisted with a fatal fire. As the weeks went on, our deputies performed heroic acts and responded to countless difficult and emotional situations. In that first February, one of our newest deputies survived a head-on crash caused by a drunk driver.

Between February and May of 2023, five officers in our region lost their lives in the line of duty. Despite these challenges our deputies continued to serve with dedication and resilience. The Pierce County Sheriff's Office stood strong. We supported our partners, grew together, and remained committed to serving our community. Deputies continued to show up, and together we moved forward.

As an office we have worked together with many local partners such as the Pierce County Tavern League, Power of 100 and local Chambers of Commerce. Our office has taken its role in the community serious with pride and commitment.

This commitment has been supported by working with the Pierce County Board to provide and maintain modern equipment and training in a budget-conscious manner. We have invested in your most important resource: the employee.

Additionally, we partnered with the River Falls Police Department to implement its first county-associated records management system. This partnership has improved officer safety and communication by bringing all of our local law enforcement partners onto a single, unified system.

We played a significant role in the development of the new courthouse, which was designed with a focus on safety and security to serve our community for years to come.

Additionally, I am proud of the new Sheriff's App. We collaborated with Public Health and Human Services to utilize opioid settlement funds to create this comprehensive information hub. The app serves as a one-stop resource to keep you informed and safe, providing everything from mental health assistance resources to emergency weather notifications. This platform allows us to deliver valuable information to you reliably and quickly.

It is no secret that this job has not become easier. Public criticism of government-especially law enforcement—is at levels not seen in decades. As your Sheriff, I have engaged with both critics and supporters to build meaningful relationships that benefit the citizens of Pierce County.

My entire life and career have prepared me for this role of service. As Sheriff, I will continue to build and maintain relationships that promote professionalism, accountability, and service delivered with dignity to every citizen. Whether assisting with a missing person, partnering with Human Services, attending school events, or managing day-to-day operations, these relationships matter.

I am not done serving. I am not done learning, growing, and supporting the extraordinary deputies who serve alongside me. The opportunity to protect your rights and serve this community with everything I have is why I ask for your vote.

Go 'til you can't go no more.
